Wrestling Dual Meet

Image
Hello all, on December 2, the Mercyhurst Wrestling Team had their very first home dual meet of the season. I happened to land a starting spot! I have to wrestle up a weight class, so the guys I'm wrestling with are a lot bigger than me! I am currently wrestling at 165lbs and I have to eat in order to weigh that much! This past dual meet I had to wrestle the number 3 guy in the country in my weight class. He was one tough son of a gun, but for the first two periods, I held my own only allowing the score to be 2-1. But as the third period rolled around he took me down more times than I wanted and ended up beating me pretty well. He was a tough cookie. Overall, the team beat Ashland University for the first time in 5 years. So it was a really good night!

Thanksgiving

Image
Hello all, I had to drive all the way to Cleveland, Ohio for Thanksgiving and I made it there safely. The reason I had to travel to Ohio was to see my mother for Thanksgiving. Ever since she got engaged to some douchebag, I've had to go over there for all the "family" events. Luckily, it was a very lovely event. We got to watch a lot of football which was tons of fun. I forgot how good of a cook my mom was and the food she made was so amazing. I felt so sick I ate so much!

Hunting

Hello all, over this past Thanksgiving Break, I went hunting. My best friend, Robbie, and I went rifle hunting on opening day. We saw a few does, but no bucks. We didn't want to shoot the does because we were trying to get the big buck! Unfortunately, we didn't see a buck, but overall it was really fun spending time outdoors with my best friend. There is just something different about being out in the woods. It reminds me of some type of relaxation therapy. It was just super nice being out in the woods. The smell, the sounds, and the atmosphere. Plus, once we were done we ate a ton of food because we were starving.

Army Promotion

Hello all, I don't know if any of you are aware, but I am in The Army. I am an Infantryman, and I have had to do 22 weeks of tough training down in Fort Benning, Georgia. It is probably as hot as the devil's armpit, and it probably rains at least every other day there.      Now I am assigned to a Stryker Unit in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. They are identified as Company B, 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment.     Anyways, just recently, I received an unexpected promotion from E-3 to E-4. E-3 is known as Private First Class, and now I am an E-4 which is known as a Specialist. This means I will make a little bit more money, so that's super exciting!! The above is the Rank Isignia for Specialist (E-4).

Microeconomics Test

Well, today I took my microeconomics test. I got to say, all that studying I did really did pay off. Luckily, the test was multiple choice, so that made it a bit easier, but did make me second-guess some of my answers. The test also consisted of drawing graphs. I believe I did well on those as well! Afterward, I asked some of my classmates how they felt about the test, and they seemed very unsure about how they did, so that definitely boosted my confidence. I'm pretty sure I did better than I thought I would, but there were definitely some questions that were hard, but most of them I had confidence in. Overall, I really hope all that studying pays off! Fingers crossed!

Stressing Over Test

Image
Hello all, I have a big Microeconomics Exam on Monday, October 31st. What a way to celebrate Halloween... Anyways I have been stressing a lot about it. The main reason is the fact that the only grades in the class are the three exams that'll be given. So I really can't mess this up! I have been studying my little heart out, but I think after I'm done writing this, I am going to study again just so I can be sure.      I'm trying to vary my methods of studying to see which one helps me retain the most information. I've been using Quizlet, Youtube, and just writing and reading. All three seem to be all help. I really hope I do well! The above shows how stressed I feel.

Wrestling Season

Hello all, wrestling season has just started for me, and it has been going well so far. About two weeks ago, I thought I had just stoved my pinky, but it has been hurting non-stop! It was super swollen and bruised. Some of the swellings have gone done and the bruising is completely gone. Who knew a pinky could hurt so bad! The only thing I'm worried about is the wrestling team has wrestle-offs this upcoming Friday to determine who will start. So I am really hoping that my pinky feels better by then!
